Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Summer Programs

Preschool

The preschool has a mixed age grouping that allows each child to grow at his or her own rate. In addition to individualized growth, this setting allows children of diverse gages to interact, optimizing what can be learned when children of varying ages and abilities, have opportunities to interact. All manner of diversity is encouraged in the St. Paul's Child Development Center environment.

Pre-Kindergarten

St Paul's pre-kindergarten class is designed specifically for children who have completed a preschool program and can benefit from an extra year of growth and development before entering kindergarten. The pre-kindergarten meets five mornings a week, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12 Noon. Extended hours are available.

Kindergarten

The kindergarten includes academic readiness skills taught in a developmentally based individualized approach that involves all curriculum areas. A dynamic learning environment supports development in each area, stressing play exploration and discovery as means for learning. Emphasis on skill building includes:

  • Fine Motor Development
  • Eye/Hand Coordination
  • Gross Motor Development
  • Cognitive School Readiness Skills
  • Social Studies
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Water Play
  • Hands-on Science
  • Computer Skills

Summer Program

The summer program includes an eight-week, full-time plan, allowing for flexible scheduling. Integrated into the program is the option of six individual theme weeks, each with a special topic of interest and on and off site field trip opportunities. Theme weeks run Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 1 PM and a parent may utilize any or all weeks.
